The couple since 20 years together and officially married for 18, their break announced late Thursday (Dec. 30), days before ringing in 2011.

"John and Elaine Mellencamp are together take pride in their 20 years and are very satisfied with their services both as a parent as a family," the statement reads. "Will continue to raise your two children in Indiana, but have decided to call him a couple day."
